Abyss logo is by Spooky. The demo logo was borrowed from a gif on some internet site since Spooky sort of "retired" from the MSX scene |

those 32k game compos contain some very interesting material indeed i'm a bit doubtful about the turbo-r shooter- it looks real nice at points, but i'm not familiar at all with turbo-r, so it's kinda hard to assess turbo-r prods qualitywise. looking at turbo-r specs, i'm mainly wondering how memory access is arranged between the R800 and Z80. my guess is that the system RAM runs at Z80 speed, and the R800 has it's own memory- or is that way off target?
maggoo, manuel: ah ok! that computes indeed... |

Not sure, but i think system ram in turbor is fast enought to work without wait states in r800 mode.
surely when dealing with rom chips the r800 is slowed down. |

havoc: turboR either runs on Z80 or R800, you can switch on the fly. It doesn't run simultaneously, so they just use exactly the same RAM.

ah yes- i get it now seems i misinterpreted the 28.6/7.16 mHz part of the specs a bit
just out of interest- what would be a regular selling price for a turbo-r? can't seem to find any on the usual auction site (ebay, marktplaats, etc) |

There are often ones on eBay, but they tend to go for 250-400 euros. turboR's are hot |

250-400 euro? Ouch... That's quite steep indeed. I'll keep my fingers crossed for someone who doesn't know what they're selling... |

You might take a peek at the 1chip-MSX. I've yet to see whether or not some FPGA gurus can outsmart the tR on its most vital points.

one's best bet to get MSX related stuff cheap would probably be local, generic fairs (e.g. not computer related perse). I got a boxed+manual Dorodon cartridge for 1 euro on such a fair. Even if that's not such a spectacular game in itself, those are the better deals |

Or just get a cheap MSX2 first |

ro: i'm inclined to say "any day now", since i have accumulated more than a page full of screenshots so far. however, i have to admit progress since breakpoint has been a bit slow. most of my spare time is spent on preparations for the outline party lately, which sadly leaves little time for other purposes. :-(
thinking about it... i might as well start uploading what i've accumulated so far, even if it's incomplete... it's better than sitting on this archive for another few weeks, i guess
