Once upon a time , there was incompatibles systems. Like the Laser Disc , Video Disc for musical clips had some popularity. Sony Betacam and Betamax,VHS and VHS-C ...

The MSX standard for home computers was introduced to producers Video Hardware. At least the later Sony 3 1/2 format was nice. The Microsoft disk system is very popular. After all, it is like the PC-DOS format with a Z80 bootstrap. It is even partially compatible with the old CP/M software , sure that the programs need to be on a DOS disk or in a CP/M disk!

Sony Betamax Sony Mavica 3 1/2 HD Disk) , Sony MSX..
To bad that it is not easy to use 3 1/2 HD on MSX/2+.
LS-120 would be fine .

CD-ROM and CD-Audio would be cool. Imagine a Philips machine with a full CD-ROM module!

Eh... There is no reason why you could not plug CD-ROM to your IDE or SCSI interface and that to your Sony / Phillips MSX... I've done that... AFAIK LS-120 works fine too... at least I've heard so...

Yeah, I have CD-ROM, 2 1GB harddisks and a MO drive on my Novaxis SCSI interface. The MO drive comes with 230MB disks. Great stuff...

i have DVD-ROM, and for sure that Bluray & HD-DVD readers will work. (If you burn the disc with ISO format).

Yes i never tried it, and some day i burned a dvd-rw and it works, so it works with any ISO 9660 disc, like DVD-RAM, etc.

I dont know if bluray and hd dvd can be burned with iso 9660 format, but i expect it.
