Hello
When i build in a 720kb drive (1.44) into my SVI738, i found a older one, from a Pentium-1 pc.
After i got it working perfect, i tried with another drive. I assume that drive is newer, but it didn work.
Files command, just return "Disk Offline"
I soldered pin 34 og 33 - but same result.
Maybe I am just lucky that the first drive works ?
The only thing i did, to get the first drive working, is to solder 34 to 33 and then swap line 10 and 12 on the flat-floppy-cable.
Is there any trick to get newer floppy drives working too?

Maybe this is a dumb question, but... have you tried a 2DD disk? If you try a 2HD disk the "hole" must be covered. Ok, sure you already did it correctly, but sometimes it happened to me with my HD diskdrive in my turboR. |

i tested the drives with read DD disks
So the HD-Hole is not the problem here. Just some diskdrives dont work maybe. But i dont know why, ofcause i only tested one drive, beside the one that worked. The TEAC 235 (i think it is), didn work, but it seems like a better drive than the one i found
But the TEAC didn work Disk Offline.

I think it's because some newer FDDs ignore the DS signal and are hardwired to DS1. Usually you need to solder a bit on the PCB to convert them to DS0 drives. Try to see what happens when you connect it as the B: drive and then access that. If it works like that you know what the issue is.

I already modified the flatcable, so 10 will go 12 and 12 will go 10. Makes drive works even if they are set as DS1.
Files"B:" dont work too.
