ok so i have this yamaha CX5m with the SFG-05 upgrade - i am trying to track down a CX5m ii/128 to replace it... so i would like to trade my unit+money for a CX5m ii/128 (i have no idea why anyone would want to but maybe they would) - also... if someone just has a CX5m ii/128 they want to sell... i'll buy over paypal - then later i will be selling my regular CX5m

The CX5MII/128 is quite rare...
Why wouldn't you rather have a common MSX2? Much more useful and often comes with a built in disk drive.

If you don't need MIDI, a standard MSX2 with Moonsound runs circles around any CX5m..

well... the only reason why i like the CX5m is the OPP chip has a completely different FM algorithm from the OPL series - but yeah... i understand why you would say that... im probably keeping my CX5m actually - the only real issue is i need one of those CA-01 cartridge adaptors for the back (i can probably make one) - and i also need a RAM cart to save my voices on (which i can also probably make) - and im REPRO-ing my YRM-102 cart to be a YRM-502 (i have the ROM) - i suppose theres no reason to spend the extra money

ps - i intend to get the moonsound for my other MSX(turbo-R) which i recently purchased on ebay o.o

oh yeah one more thing - i like the distinct differences in each yamaha sound chip... which is what lead me to the MSX computer to begin with; being able to compose music for a bigger variety of soundchips - as i said in other posts... i have already composed for the OPP chip, OPL2, SID (c64), and 2a03 (nes)

FYI: the CX5M has an OPM (YM-2151 or YM-2164), not an OPP.

I believe the sfg-0x modules have the same chip as found in the Yamaha FB01 module.

ah... well... i've read a couple things... some articles say OPM some say OPP - as far as the FB01 using the same chip... i am pretty sure it does... but for some reason the DAC sounds a lot more muffled on the FB01 (i have 2 of them) and there is no way to program voices for it without an external computer (lame)
