ok... perhaps i have been going about this the wrong way... i have been trying to figure out which MSX computer to buy for my needs... but lts boil it down to the most simple questions

what are the system requirements for these trackers
1)ORACLE
2)SCC BLAFFER
3)SCC BLAFFER NT
4)PRO TRACKER
5)any other tracker program i would probably use
...i see that the moonblaster requires atleast MSX2 w/ 128k ram... i am curious about the other trackers as well

what i've determined so far... i need NTSC so i need a japanese model - so if moonblaster requires more than 64k ram that rules out the pana WX computer i was trying to get... as well as every other japanese MSX2+ on this page:

http://faq.msxnet.org/msx2p.html#msx2pcompa

regular MSX2 computers dont necessarily include MSX-AUDIO on the main board... so pin pointing which of those works would be complicated - so i am left with trying to determine if i need a TURBO-R A1GT or A1ST at this point

Hi,

If you are into music, you might want to get the A1GT, because it has a MIDI interface.

how does the midi interface work exactly? what are the advantages of it? i heard its not very useful and most of the scene software does not take any advantage of it

after hours of research... (reading old threads... looking thru outdated versions of the blaffer manual) i have concluded that the ST should be fine... so i believe this search has ended

a quote from one of the blaffer manuals:

Quote:

Hardware configuration

To use SCC-Blaffer NT you need the following hardware configuration:

? an MSX2? or better computer
? 128KB RAM and VRAM
? a single sided disk-drive (although SCC Blaffer NT is delivered on double density diskettes)
? a Konami? cartridge with SCC or SCC+ chip? build in
? SCC Blaffer NT

mind you this is outdated... the newest version of the software can operate with DOS2 + HDD

Hi alexmauer,

These trackers (except for Oracle, which needs 256Kb) will work on all msx2 computers with at least 128KB ram.
Ofcourse you also need the right music chips. (MSX Music, MSX Audio, Moonsound or SCC)
Don't worry about NTSC/Pal...

MSX-AUDIO is not built in in any MSX. MSX-MUSIC is built in some MSX machines, mostly MSX2+ machines and the turboR's. SCC is only built in Konami game cartridges. Moonsound is a separate cartridge. All of this can be seen on the FAQ site, which you already discovered.
