Welcome to the MRC forum waver.I suppose you are new here.Well in order to answer those questions you have to give us some more details.

1)What emulator do you use?Bluemsx for example?Do you have the system roms (many msx emulators require this)
2)Maybe this boulderdash rom is a colecovision game and you are trying to run it through bluemsx? If that is the case then you need to select coleco emulation.Msx does not run coleco roms directly but needs some emulator first
3)Maybe you haven't configured the emulator properly.

Some more information is needed.

My original copy of Boulderdash only works on MSX1 machines; I assume the rom-image you have is a copy of this cartridge and has the same problem. Try setting the emulator you use to 'MSX1'.

It was released in Japan only. I was pretty heartbroken when I discovered it didn't work on my msx2. To be able to play it anyway, I made a MSX1-bios cartridge. If I want to play it I just plug the msx1 bios in slot1, and Boulderdash in slot2. Pretty funny to see the msx2 boot up as an msx1

Can pokes like "poke -1,170" or the universal poke available at msx faq fix this?
