Hi there !

I'm looking infos about Cipher, the Sd Snatcher's clone from sd-snatcher.net
I've mailed to the author without success.

Somebody could help ?

Thank you, one more time...

Well, it's very unlikely the game will ever be finished. The author stopped working on it, and has no plans to continue (I talked with him about it a month or so ago). I will keep on nagging him to release the stuff he made so far to the public, so somebody else can finish it...

Thanks for info... and too bad to read that's the author had stopped working.
It will be nice, because this project was great !

It's a pity to see that great projets in the past hadn't reach the finish line. I understand very well that life, job and other personnal things call down "own MSX projets".
But it's revival time now (and for a loooong time !!) and things sometimes stop to be memories and come back from the past !
I hope so....

He lost interest, and (second) life happened...

We did try to talk him into picking it up again, but he wasn't motivated enough to do so. Not even when we tried to seduce him with a Moonblaster replayer and some songs...

Grrr...

As his site isn't closed (even if there's no updates since monthes), he still has the "MSX feeling"... or MSX memories...
Perhaps it could be possible that somebody continues, hum ??

Cipher is such a nice idea and a wonderfull tribute to Sd Snatcher...

As it's being made with 'Dante 2' game editor, anybody could continue it... because it doesn't require any programming experience. Why don't you take over from him?... you look really motivated!

You're right Imanok !

I've never used Dante 2. I'll try to have a look at it !!
Watching screenshoots from Cipher seems that Dante 2 could be powerfull.
And about motivation, you're right, as I'm a Sd Snatcher fan... (Who isn't ???)
But I've never made any games before on MSX. Only ugly programs in basic. It's really not my way. I prefer write articles on MSX or reviews about his games. With plenty hours of gaming on them !!! (I love Cat'n Mouse & Bubble rain and if remember well, I've made a review of your Rolling thunder, 10 years ago...)

I think some kind of tutorial was published somewhere (apart from the english translation of the editor).

I has its limitations (as any game editor) but I'm sure it can be used to make some cute things

Motivation is the only thing needed. There's no excuse for a person without programming knowledge not to make a game with a game editor!

Say no moooore !!

For those who , it is an obscure tribute to the Monty Pythons.
I know, it does not belong here, but I could not resist, being a huge fan and all
