I got the following popup while browsing MRC with IE7 (I usually use firefox) a little while ago. Should I be worried

You should be worried only if MRC asks for your bank account number and your pin code, in order to do a "security" verification

That is usually what phishing website do, trying to impersonate a known website, such as your bank, or Paypal, just to get your personal information, so they can use it to steal your money.

I think IE7 might be working its phishing filter with some unknown parameters that wrongly detected a threat where there was none.

dvik: maybe some joker reported our website some time ago. I just checked manually in IE7 and don't get a warning at all. If you (still) get it: which vesion of IE7 are you using and on which page do you perform the check? It would be interesting to see which causes this weird report

Maybe some kind of deep linking (eBay?) could be the reason...

Maybe Microsoft does not want people to learn the secrets of konami games interrupts that i wanted to discuss in that thread.

Games such as metal gear were awesome with 128kbytes of rom code running on machines with 64kbytes of ram.

The mysterious Nikodr decided to decode the interrupt code table located ta &H41AC of metal gear 1 and ask for help in the MRC Bill gates's secret room which is connected with satelites and with secret alien bases started to blink and a human-computerized voiced said "WARNING WARNING,HOSTILE MRC MEMBER wants to learn info regarding interrupt handlers in Konami msx games".

"Warning :Target must be eliminated, those are secrets that would compromise the value of the New "Wind-oz Bitch-a" (not vista but bitch-a!well that is the new operating system,a mixture from the wizard of "OZ",it's a miracle to set it up,and Bitch-a secret agent that is supposed to be a brother with the some of the murphy laws,it's very bitch os and if it doesn't want to work no effort from the user will change it).

So the evil Bill Gates, set's up a conspiracy and add MRC forum as a phising site in the new extraordinary Wind-oz Internet Sexplorer,a very sexy explorer that can be manipulated by spyware and malware in the most sexy ways, you choose the site, sexplorer chooses page from the Kama sutra book to make love to our infected with malware pc.

Or it is just that microsoft is a kingdom full with programers that are apes, and they simply play monkey academy every day!.

Apes do not know the difference between a Good site and a harmful one...

Metalion, i have felt really bad many times in the past with the way explorer works.

Imagine this, you are home from work, and you do not have antivirus installed, you have some precious data in your pc,and your friend brings his small nephew to play with your computer.

Since it is just a small kid it's easy to surf to web and go and use explorer and go to sites that someone would not normally go.Then pc is full of spyware things.

No matter how many patches or antispybot programs i install, internet explorer always has flaws. And that's why i have to check every day microsoft site to download patches.

A really good browser would not be full of popup stuff. All those popup that come out without the user's choice (which means that machine has problem in the registry and malware is installed) is something i don't like.

Received mail from M$, they have removed the pages from their filter. It might take up to 24h before notices stop popping up in your web browser. In the future, if you spot a page with such a notice: please inform me at snout@msx.org and I will take care of it. Thanks for spotting it!
