Since I use an USB CF cardreader and a Sunrise CF ATA-IDE interface, it would be really useful for me if the Sunrise interface could support hot-swapping (removing and inserting CF cards while the computer is turned on -no pun intended-). I don't know if this is possible, because I think a 'swap' should create an interrupt which automatically re-reads the partition table. Since I do not know much about the CF ATA-IDE designs I don't know if it's just a BIOS thing or a hardware modification or just plain impossible on MSX.

I suppose it would be possible, but exactly how... I can think of one method, but that would sacrifice access speed. Are you willing to put up with that?

Then I'd rather re-read partition-tables manually |

You can always ask Jon to implement a partition re-read option when a combination of keys is pressed...

Rob Hiep just mailed me in person, but I think it's more than interesting enough for this forum:
It is possible to create a hot-swappable CompactFlash interface for MSX. It would increase the costs with 10 euro's. Unfortunately, 'old' CF-interfaces can not be modified.
