I'm not your personal slave, Mark.

First of all I'm not the only coder at the MRC. And I'm not the only news submitter at the MRC either. I'm not the MRC. Although I admit I am the most active member of the MRC right now.

Second, if you submit a bug. Describe it clearly. That helps finding it, and thus finding a solution.

I have found the bug you spotted however, and will fix it soon. Working on something that's more important to me right now.

I had to look where the error occurred "on some report" isn't a clear description to me. Furthermore, if you don't know the code, you don't know the best solutions. Simple as that. Although a simple stripslashes could have worked around this bug, I used an internal CMS function which does more than just that. Case closed.

ok, a clear bugreport:
In the post of NYYRIKKI at http://www.msx.org/forumtopicl776.html you can see that an FTP:// url is pased as if it was a HTTP-url, by adding http:// in front of the ftp://

anye change that can be fixed?

Grauw - indeed. but links to FTP's and IRC's should work (some day). As said before: not a real priority at the moment.

Did this just before the Konami (Kojima) poll went up: added some extra security to the polling system. If asking nicely to keep the polls fair doesn't work, a few lines of PHP will

I don't think showing the code to people will make the votes more fair. Instead 1337 h4x0rz0ring people (they suck) will find it more easy to figure out a workaround to still keep spoiling the polls.

furthermore.. it IS still posstible to work around it all (of course, one can ALWAYS work around security ^_^) so... please keep the polls fair!

about time to keep you forum visitors up-to-date on the latest news.

First of all... we had a bad month when it comes to web-hosting. We suffered more downtime and time-outs than we could reasonably expect from our webhost. After giving them enough time to solve things and after quite some discussions the problems are finally solved. As you probably have noticed, msx.org is fast and stable again.

Currently three translators are working in their spare time translating the MRC-interface into Spanish. After that is done, no less than 49 news post have to be translated before we can go 'live' with these translations. A lot of work, and only a limited ammount of spare time, so it will take some time before the MRC is available in Spanish. Furthermore I'm still figuring out a nice way to handle things like (mega)polls and things like that.

BiFi and I are also about to finish the downloads module and a first bit of its contents. If you have any freeware files left (music you made, graphics, games, utilities demo's, ...) you want to share with the entire MSX community, don't hesitate to send them in! (Contact us or mail Bifi for more info.

There are the priority projects right now. After that we'll get working on some other interesting stuff, like - uhm - a contacts database (members only! ), the return of the MIDI player (finally) and - perhaps - a web shop where you can buy some good old, real MSX games. We're already figuring out what the costs would be if we started such a web-shop.

fixed a typo in the photo-shoots source code, which caused the navigation-arrows not to show op in 'the better internet browsers'

Thanks go to Manuel Bilderbeek for reporting and helping out.

Ok, forgot to add several things to the changelog, but euhm... the Contacts section is up and running now. Working on the return of the MIDI-section. Jacco Bot - who helped us out several times in the past - has already created a nice base for this one. Should not be too much work, apart from the GFX I need
