Right, I'm trying to boot Final Fantasy for MSX but all I got is this 'Say DOS Version 1.A0 for MSX series' statement and some Japanese texts in screen 0......And from there, nothing. It doesn't respond to any keyboard entry.

Should I boot the game while pressing a certain key or something?

Any suggestion would be highly appreciated, I'd like to play the game. Thanks

Maybe I can help you if you can provide me with a screen shot of - in particular - the Japanese text.

Oddly, it's not being mentioned in the manual anywhere!

I must say that I already suspected something like that, but I expected an MSX master like yourself to think of something like that before asking questions, Latok!
