Does anyone know how much instructions to Turbo R can take per second?
Benchmarks
Even if those benchmarks are not recommended for serious users ...

a z80 clocked at 4mhz 0 wts and executing only nops can reach to 1MIPS

But in practice it might reach only ~ 0.25 MIPS.

The R800 could do 7.16 MIPS, in theory, but in real programs it will be less because not all instructions can be executed in a single cycle. Plus, on the Turbo R program execution is halted once in a while for RAM refresh and then there's a (one cycle?) penalty when the hi-byte of the Program Counter changes.

There are good answers over here.

Now, whats about LIPS (Logical Inferences Per Second)?
I want to expand my vocabulary ...

Do MIPs increase with a 40 Mhz?

By the way, do not forget Drystones and Whetstones

Theorically, their should. But there are several factors that limit the speed of the processor.Like the absence of a CACHE on the processor and the RAM speed, this without counting that the MSX Bus is only around 7 Mhz ... It is possible to use a modified Micro Processor, but this is highly debatable. Should be useful for intensive tasks (less slow down), the main problem is to synchronize this with the VDP,RAM and PSG!

Maybe something like a board with a EZ380 or similar processor.Since now the MSX would need new projects (and chips!).What's about a custom chip with integrated sound and dedicated memory !?

For specific tasks, maybe a dedicated Digital Signal Processor would be more recommended. There was already some projects listed here as old news on MSX.ORG.
Processing analog signals means that would be possible to use raw sound or even video, this was one of the faster ways to process math instructions for MP3 and MP4 decoders ... Until that some (people with questionable scrupulous or even 'unscrupulous') companies disability the Drivers and support for this type of stuff, that was more common for MP3, sound and Video decoding ... Also could be used for display 3D objects, since the DSP chips are not expensive!!!

Imagine how cool a dispositive that could be used as a superimposer with Gen Lock and video digitizing features plus sound sampling system!

Yeah, let's put all of the MSX's logic on one chip, an FPGA for example, and call the thing OneChipMSX or sumtn...

Oh, wait
