Hi!
I'm completly new to MSX-DOS2 and now I am trying to configure my IDE CF adaptor.
My system config is the following: Philips NMS-8245 (not modified), Sunrise IDE CF adaptor with BIOS 2.10, Memorex 64 MB type I Compact Flash.
I connect all the stuff and boot the computer using the Sunrise Disk that came with the adaptor. It boots in MSXDOS2 without problems.
Then, I create two partitions and format them. How can I copy the files needed? Are they MSXDOS2.SYS and COMMAND2.COM? Should I include MSXDOS.SYS and COMMAND.COM?
I do not know how to copy these files from the original disk to the CF card. So I connected the already formatted CF cart to my PC and directly copied the files. When I boot the MSX it locates the CF card and displays the MSX-DOS2 logo, but then it says something like "Insert COMMAND2.COM disk in drive A:". What should I do?
I am not able to do anything with all this if I cannot install properly MSX-DOS2!!!!!
Help me, please!!!!

I think you should read the instructions that can be found in the delivered txt-files.
Latok state here the use of fat16. If you want to use that agreed. But that is not what I read here.
The start of fdisk becomes first indeed. Than A,W,I, if you want to make it fat12 for both partitions.
If you have done so.remove the disk and reboot.
Wait till you are in Basic. Than do as follows".
iNSERT the disk again than do copy"c:"msxdos2.sys" to a: and the same with command2.com. Rebooting and your system functions

sunrise: thank you for the corrections. Of course you are right. But I thought: with this instruction, pitpan will get the right ideas (that is copying the msxdos2.sys & command2.com in BASIC) |
