Could the Dragon's Lair demo be considered in that category as well ?

'coz that was really impressive too !

As for ro's inquiry about music disks:

- they count as demos as they usually have certain demo'esque content. (heck, Muzax 3 was delayed 1 fair because ro didn't have enough demo content )
- but be fair: is it worth nominating a screen 0 interface music disk?

Of our demos I actually like Utopia the best. There are some cool screen 0 parts, sampled audio, and the MSX1 only part that has a mix of screen 0, 2, and 3 at the same time.

Btw, NYYRIKKI showed some really impressive russian I think MSX1 demos at the MSX Info Update party last year. Don't remember their names though so I'll nominate all Russian MSX1 demos to make sure I cover all of them

Whaat?! Do you know how much time I spent on that menu for Impact Musix Disk #1? I had to apply my best MSX-Basic skills and the only little thing I forgot was a WIDTH 80 command (which only those strange people who hadn't set this by default noticed).

In any case, I would never have the audacity to call THAT a demo and whoever would nominate that particular disk has been smoking something worse than me, Poltergeist AND poke....

Just to be somewhat ontopic: I would also like to nominate Station - New Sensation, since it was the first MSX demo with many vector graphics.
Edit: two more: Arno Dijkhoff's "U Can't Touch This" demo, because it managed to sample the entire song and provided sound AND animation during disk activity and the Robosoft Megademo which also showed impressive effects. In case these are two obscure, I actually have disk images of them available.

As for Dragon's Lair: it's a pure video without interactive features, and those aren't to be seen as demos. That's not to say that D.L. is not impressive or practical, it's just not really a demo within the context of this megapoll.

Xelasoft Modplayer promo - The one with the snatcher-pic + equalizer. Who would have thought, at the time...
Moonwalker demo (what was the name of the group again?) - A fresh view on MSX demo
BCF Megademo Promo - Pity the "real thing" never made it
BCF Sigma - Again, at the time....

Aekrus (Lieves!Tuore) - funky tune, nice effects (Vector City!), stupid rabbit picture... what else does a demo need?
BCF Penguin demo - ok, so that's mostly because of nostalgic reasons... it was very funny, though

snout: the name is "No Waste". And it's not an equalizer, it's a set of 4 VU meters for each channel </nag>

I also consider Dragon's Lair more video than demo... In this poll I think that Diary or Alternative -98 demo would fit better.
