note: if things are wrong or incomplete it's because they were submitted in a wrong, incomplete or otherwise obfuscated format. Oh, and things like 'all form xyz' aren't valid. We need complete entries! If you want to have things fixed: give your entries in the correct format!

Stick to:

"title" (group) - reason

Example:

"The Source of Power" (ANMA) - multipart-demo, cool effects, etc. etc.

"Astro Star" (Merlasoft) - one of few demos in screen 7, lots of interesting user interaction and features depending on the computer configuration (memory, MSX2/2+ etc)
"Happy Demo" (Merlasoft) - many different simultaneous effects

By the way, I suggest to include the years of release of the demo to ensure fair competition. After all, it is quite obvious that certain later demos are far more advanced than other demos which were groundbreaking when they were released. I am quite certain that "Impaccen & Wegwezen" (Impact) is from 1991, and so is "Decalogue" (Station).

"Fear of an FM Planet" (Northwind) - First bigger demo I ever saw and was pretty good for its time. Also one of the few demos from Norway

Does someone have any other Northwind demos?

fondacio: I don't think giving the demo a timestamp is relevant. We ARE in search of the BEST MSX demo. Compensating demo quality by age doesn't make sense. If we would have been in search of the most IMPORTANT MSX demo, age would be relevant, yes. But in that case, it would be a boring contest, FAC Demo IV should win that without a question ^_^

Some nuances. For the Dutch MSX demo scene, these 2 demos should win most important msx demos. Without them, this whole scene wouldn't have risen and for example, www.msx.org wouldn't have existed. YES, I do believe that

It IS interesting there were other MSX evolutions of course. Like those Finnish MSX demo sceners. Those demos would have appeared also without the Dutch MSX demo scene. Don't quite know about early Brazilian and Spanish MSX demo scenes.....Am interested, though!

There are a couple of demos in the list that doesn't include the author/group. Is it just missing in the list or are the groups unknown for these demos?

Didn't find them in the nominations, in case of emergency we could try to spot them ourself, but it'd be the best when someone can fill in these gaps ..
