Just imagine the time it consumes to design one super-highres 'tile' representing a classic 8x8 tile. Games would take ages to make.

"256*192 should be enough for everyone"

I'm more of a 320x240 person . But since MSX doesn't have that, I'll settle for 256x192.....

Image viewer for 4096x3072 on MSX ? How fast should be Z80 to copy such an image from disk to video memory in a reasonable time ? Yukio, if you intend to use additional hardware, or something like that, share your plans with us !

I for one am particularly interested in the holographic devices for MSX.

Whats about holographic devices or 2D acceleration?
Since the High Definition is not that must have ... Whats about a High Resolution LCD?

Imagine a YJK image at a higher resolution ... something like 4096*3072!

A full screen LMMM VDP operation may require a geological era to complete...

Holographic technology is not really new.
But now, there seems to be some holographic mass storage devices available on the market.
HVD is one of them. Holographic Versatile Discs!
This seems to be one of the more robust disc formats of the later years ...
There is already some nice entries into the Google search engine for HVD.
Maybe if someone take a look into the technically specifications it would be possible to already use something like this into the MSX, Home Personal Computer System.

That's stereo vision, not holographics

Wake me up when you power up the first MSX-based holodeck
