Ok, what about the graphics ? Did they have 16 colors editors and later manipulated the images, or was it all in asm too ? Something like: Out "black point on address 154:215" ?

When I program in ASM, I do a lot of tests, I do not like having to compile, saving a DSK and run in the emulator.

Then use make or an equivalent. Even a simple batch file that does
asm thesource.asm thegame.com
if errorllevel 1 goto :debug

rm thedisk.dsk
wrdsk thedisk.dsk thegame.com autoexec.bat msxdos.sys command.com
openmsx -machine msx2 -diska thedisk.dsk
goto :theEnd

:debug
echo "LEARN TO CODE YOU FOOL!"

:theEnd
takes away much of your pain...
