Can anybody tell me what I exactly need to use my turboR on European PAL TV or monitor sets ?
(On PAL monitors I get no image and on PAL TV I only get black and white.)

I also need an 8-pin RGB cable. Any idea where I could get it, or at least the connectors so I can make it myself ?
As far as I know I will need to buy a TV which supports NTSC ?

Please let me know.
Thank you very much.

As far as I know, every modern tv set (or monitor) with direct RGB input (SCART) is capable of displaying NTSC signals. You can get a ready-made cable @ MSX-Club West-Friesland (Bas Kornalijnslijper)... http://www.mcwf.msx2.com

Unfortunately, not every TV with RGB-scart supports NTSC. Most Philips TV's don't, for instance. It's a matter of trial (and error).

So that's why my Sony does work with NTSC... Probably because they're made in Japan anyway

Uhm, all my Philips TV's work! Even a very old one...

But to answer the question, for composite video out you need a TV/monitor that supports NTSC signals. For the RGB out, which is way better quality anyway, the TV/monitor should support RGB an 60Hz. Some TV's shift the image left or right, or have slightly shaky picture, but I only rarely come across one that doesn't work at all @ 60Hz.

This may be helpful (it mainly deals with consoles, but everything you'd like to know about NTSC/PAL/etc should be in it)

The solution has come and is much more simple than I imagined
No need for NTSC-PAL converters nor for 60Hz compatible TV sets

All you need is the correct RGB cable and a standard Philips MSX monitor.
You can order the RGB cable with Bas ornalijnslijper...

It has a round 8-pin connector at one side and a scart on the other side.

Works like a charm

Greetz.
Kris.
