has there been some one who have tried to put in 2 laptop diskdrives in this machine.


if correct, it is connectable. but has it been done already.

the bad side is, the price of the drives afcourse.

and the power supply, but this is fixable afcourse.

because this way you can put 2 drives internal in the nms above each other.

Seems a cool idea!. I've no idea about how much power can drain a laptop floppy disk drive (the standard ones have about 1,2A); but usually laptop hardware has lesser needs than desktop hardware.

I'm not totally sure; but, is the controller able to drive two disks?...

Only Pin 6 & 7 of the NMS8245 i'm not shure about.

i know there is a sheet between there to connect at lleast 1 laptop drive, so 2 would not be a problem.

and to be sure, because 2 drives is already hard voor the nms8245. is a seperated internal power supply extra only for both drives.

but first i am going to look for to new cheap laptop drives.

i previous came to this idea, but the prices. kept me on hold.

a drive new is about 30 a 40 euros. each. that means, that you already have 80 euros of drives in the msx.


and than the big question, if you have the wrong drives, what is possible youre stuck. hihi.

but lets see what the futures brings.
