MSX1 computers had a problem when connected using RF to a TV. The japanese machines lost the left most char row, and european machines the the three left most character rows. That's it, in SCREEN 0, WIDTH 39 for Japan and WIDTH 37 for Europe.
My question, as long as I cannot test it now, is if this problem is solved when connecting the computer to the TV using RCA or SCART (composite) output.

Please test it, if you can. I need the exact number of pixels that can be seen on a TV connected to a MSX1 computer.

Thank you!

This is probably different for each TV.

Actually, I think that it isn't related to the TVs, it is a problem between TMS9918 and the RF converter used. I want to know if it also happens with composite RCA/SCART connection.
Most MSX1 ROM games only use a 240 pixels width, and that's the reason. For example, all Konami MSX1 ROMs.

Kind regards,

Edu R.

On a friend's black & white TV there were still a lot of missing pixels playing Salamander... Also in BASIC a lot was missing (screen 1 width 30).

I don't think it matters that much though.
