I have a Sony HB-75 MSX1, and I want to be able to transfer files to it. All of the IDE/SD/CF adapters are MSX2 only. Nowind USB supports MSX1, but I have no idea how to get one.

Any thoughts? I was thinking I could use the cassette adapter and hook it up my desktop's audio ports, but that means writing software to decode the audio, and that sounds like work...

1) SD adapter works on MSX1
2) there are ROM->WAV and BIN->WAV converters (like WAVeR, MicroWAVer and CasLink) that may help you to load software via cassette port.

Nope, IDE works on plain MSX1. You will have problems to partition your HD (the software uses 80 columns), but other than that (and not running DOS2, so no sub-directories) you can use IDE on MSX1.

You can also use a disk interface, and any 3 1/2 PC floppy drive will work, just remember to tape the disk "hole", so the 1.44 disk will format as a 720k.

There´s also some software to load wav files at high speed from the cassete port (you can use a cd player and record the games as audio tracks) - there are 2 project as far as I remember, one by Robsy (Waver) and a Russian one (don't remember the name, sorry).

I think I'll go with the cassette cable, it's slow, but cheap. My big problem is that I'm in the US, given our economy, I think 1€ is about 450 US Dollars... But I'll save my Pennies, 'cause a Nowind or an IDE adapter would be cool.
