I have a modified 8250 that does a boot @ 60Hz... So, if I play a original Konami game it plays at normal speed. Years ago I never knew that in the early days the gamespeed and music runs slower cause you played @ 50 Hz!

If you are using original hardware... before starting the game type: vdp(10)=vdp(10)and253

If using a emulator: search in the settings or use a MSX2+ or Turbo-R emu!

I'm sorry... didn't know you were using an original cartridge!!

I have a modified chip that boots the machine @ 60Hz so that's an option!

The other option is a dangerous option! Put the cartridge in the machine when you are in basic and start the game! I can't remember the commands for starting a cartridge in basic but if someone knows please reply!!

But you can damage your MSX and/or Cartridge!

Just wait for some other replies.. maybe there are some other options then a modified chip or inserting a cartridge when the power is on!

Another option is ofcourse the SCC-switch! The cartridge is modified with a switch: turn the switch on and the game will not boot! In basic you turn the switch off and you can use the SCC-chip for SCC music in other programs.

Thanks to the switch you can play the original game @ 60Hz!

Some options that you can use to switch Hz before starting a cartridge game...

- Make a switch to cartridge that disables autostart, change Hz and play* (Example here)
- Make a switch to MSX that disables autostart, change Hz and play* (Same idea as abowe)
- Patch MSX-ROMs to allow Hz switch before game starts (Example for Phillips NMS8250 here)
- Make a cartridge that allows Hz switching. Insert this cartridge to slot 1 and game to slot 2 (There are also ready flash cartridges such as Sunrise IDE or MegaFlash that can be used)
- Use slot expander that has dip switches to enable / disable slots. Use the dips, change Hz and play*
- Insert cartridge on fly, change Hz and play* (This may damage your MSX, you have been warned...)

To change between 50/60Hz type:
VDP(10)=VDP(10)XOR2

* Program to start cartridge game after Hz change
1 D$="3E01FD67210240CD0C0023DD6FFD7CCD0C00DD67C31C00"
2 AD=&HC000:DEFUSR=AD:FORI=0TO23:POKEAD+I,VAL("&H"+MID$(D$,I*2+1,2)):NEXT
3 'POKE AD+1,Cartridge SLOTID (&B1000SSMM) Default is slot 1
4 A=USR(0)

Well... At least Manuel Pazos... Look this URL: http://personales.mundivia.es/mpazos/flashrom/index2.html

Here is needed ROM I just made: (uuencoded, you can use for example WinZip to decode)
begin 0666 HZ.zip
M4$L#!!0````(``ZD%3F;9W412P````!````&````2%HN4D]-[<&Q$4`P``#`
MW%G`"&8P@,-V1L@(TEB#.F7ZG%*EI;6`[O^GN1W#1TGUNIN<REJ[?>O/)\=A
MR?$(````````````````````P&]>4$L!`A0`%`````@`#J05.9MG=1%+````
M`$````8``````````0`A`````````$A:+E)/35!+!08``````0`!`#0```!O
%````````
`
end

(Press H-key to skip 60Hz switch)

It's not obfuscated... You should add possibility to attach let's say <4KB files to forum posts in order to avoid these kind of messages. I'm not interested in hosting these kind of files...

I was actually thinking something like that, even somewhat bigger, so someone could host MSX images and such. Well discuss it internally, but no guarantees..

Hmm... I think this more simple way may do the trick on most cases:

DEFUSR=&H7D75:A=USR(0)
