Can someone tell me how to get Symbos started on a OCM ?

I tried the search, but unfortunatly I have to say the search on this site is not so good.

I downloaded the symbos-msx.zip from symbos.de and tried both the .dsk file and the folder structure in the ZIP on my SD card and Symbos does boot up, but as soon as I move my mouse the system freezes.

You need to use the fdocm driver. See page 187 of this thread for the full details

Erm, fine. But how the hell do I get to the Dos prompt? Whatever HD images, Cart Slots or Dsk images I choose I always end up with MSX Basic.

Its strange, but I've been coding since I was eleven, know half a dozen forms of assembler, loads of high level languages, worked on probably 50+ different machines, and worked on games that have sold about half a million copies (though my bank balance doesn't reflect it), and yet I can't even get the the dos prompt up in BlueMSX

try copy msxdos to a diskimage abd if it is dos also add the msxdos2 rom to the machine

I've made a ZIP file with the folowing components :

OCM Optimized BIOS
MSX-DOS 2.41
Symbos 2.0
OCM SD Driver
Music Files
Video Files

Just in 1 single ZIP package (12 Mb), copie this to an empty SD card and your good to go on a OCM or ESE 3

Trebmint, can you put your app on a ZIP file instead of a DSK?

1) First, it is necessary to choose emulator to run SYMBOS configuration MSX.
Tools -> Mashine editor -> Profile name -> MSX2
For example: Profile name - MSX2 (512 kB RAM and Philips Disk Controller)
2) For the convenience of work in SYMBOS connect to JOYSTICK1 mouse
Tools -> Controllers / Keyboard Editor -> Joystick 1 -> mouse
3) Then, set in Disk Drive A: disk image Symbos-MSX-Full.dsk from the archive SYMBOS-MSX.zip
4) Keep the RESET in the emulator.
5) Once launched, MSX-DOS simply dial SYMBOS and await loading system.

Cheers for the help everyone, finally up an debugging in bluemsx, so have been able to fix the issue. Turns out WRDSK was corrupting / culling files as I was issuing the command too quickly, but hey ho tis working now.

It works well on OCM_DE1.
Only in the left corner of the picture all the time sticks out Malevich's black square
