AuroraMSX: it does, but I couldn't get it working and the slow framerates is because i have not the fastest computer. Not an xvidcap problem.
Note that you are running both an MSX emulator, a frame grabber and an MPEG encoder simultaneously!
Anyway, for everyone that knows how to do it better: good luck! Because I'm not going to |

| camtasia is a program that lets you record your desktop
every mouse movement, every visible aspect
if you play video, it will record it,including streaming video WMV and everything you imagine.
That is how software tutorials are made too using video.
I'd say google for it, friends of mine use it to record streaming concerts etc.
This also means you can record any MSX emulator as well,
sound and video .

Ok after you made the videocapture of ONLY the msx screen of the emulator, What is the best audio/videocompressing method you can use to create an acceptable filesize ? |

If you're making an AVI I would recommend to use the free XVID (MPEG4) and Lame (MP3) encoders. Use a two-pass encode for the best video quality at a given bitrate.

I use Virtualdub. It still needs the codecs installed separately and there are some options to configure. I don't know of any other suitable programs.

Here is a better one. This time rendered to AVI directly by openMSX, with the new AVI recorder that was just implemented. We use a lossless codec (ZMBV). After recording the sound to MP3 it became 102MB The GOogle version was re-encoded by themselves to MPEG-4, which reduced the quality, but also the size. Check it out
Framerate of the original movie is 60 fps, but still scale factor 1 (just enough to fit all pixels, though). There is no stuttering and sound and video are in perfect sync |

Uhm, manuel? There is something wrong with that intro. On a real MSX turboR there are A LOT of those biochemical viruses multiplying before the hand comes crawling upwards. In this video, you can only see one biochemical virus dividing into 2.....And if I may mention. In this video, the Abyss logo animation is A LOT faster than the animation on a real MSX turboR.

Well, there are some minor issues with the V9990 command speed
The amount of viruses is a bit random. In this particular one I had bad luck and ther were only 2 indeed. Normally there are a bit more, but in general there are too little on openMSX, indeed. This is also due to the command speed, AFAIK. |
