Hallo! I'm an entusiat user of DISKMANAGER for .dsk images of floppy. Unfortunatly it doesn't seem to work as well with HDD image. I've downloaded the promo version of Dragon's Lair for MSX2 (8Mbyte). Now on my window i'm looking for a software like DISKMANAGER to create an HDD image, format it and copying on it files. Using diskmanager and inserting the image in bluemsx it doesn't work. Could someone help me??

Thanks !!

HDD image creation is still experimental in Disk Manager. It is still not finished, you can't create directories in disk images and can't choose between FAT12/FAT16. As far as I know there's no complete tool yet. Ideally, you'd just mount a directory as HDD in an emulator. Maybe openMSX supports it, but blueMSX doesn't.

There is no good solution for your problem as far as I know...

OpenMSX disk manipulator commands can import and export files, but they are commandline tools. There is also DiskExplorer but it tends to CORRUPT DISK IMAGES AND FILES very easyly.

One way is to use USB memorystick, Compactflash, MMC etc. type of small media, copy files to it and make an image of it for the emulator with for example Dubaron DiskImage.

I have created a 16Mb dsk file that you can mount as IDE0 in a emulated Sunrise Controller on the bluemsx.
You can download the dsk file @ http://www.luppie.net/files/16mb.zip

I checked this file my self with MSXDOS2 and it is working.

The next generation Catapult, which we are working on, will have a GUI for this. In fact, that part is already working since a few months (Thanks to turbor.)

Thankyou so much!!!! I found that the last version of Disk-Manager doesn't corrupt this .dsk image when i open it. So i made a .dsk with autobooting Dragon's lair demo and another one with autobooting of Unknown Reality demo!! Yesterday i spent half an hour to watch all the demo running on turbo-r with HDD using Blue. Thanks a lot !!

I use iMSX as frontend (i find it great!!). Now i'm waiting for it to launch hdd images too

Thanks and regards

Giuseve
