i have a 8235 overhere.
i have updated the diskrom with a discfile rom 720 for this machine.
i have put in a pc drive. modifield.
i have changed the wiring.
de pc drive is only b instead of a, but that is not the problem.
when i want to read 720 floppies, it goes offline, when want to read the second have of the disc.
also when i want to format 720 it shows.
bad parameter.
if i format it 360 theres no problem, and reading of it is also no problem.
is there some who can say what i have overlook.
or that did not wire the flatcable correct?

From the looks of it, I'd say that the replacement ROM wasn't installed at all or the upgrade hasn't been done properly. Clearly the drive is good, so it should be in the firmware.

the drive is pc new, modifield by my self, and works always, so that would be fine.
and the disk rom, is a file downloaded from the net, wich is made for 8235 dd drive use.
because the weird thing is that, he aks me in format also the option for formating in 720. if correct that isnt there when you have the original diskrom?
is there some one who has the correct file for me, then i will reprogram it, and see what happens. and i will recheck the cable.

Have you disabled the internal High Density sensor in the PC Drive ?
For your Drive B: issue, this is the solution:
The PC drive is always set to DS1: which is the B: drive. If the drive is started at boot but doesn't work like A: drive, you will have to plug WIRE 10 on PIN 12 and WIRE 12 on PIN 10. This is not needed if you wish to use the drive as B:. Alternatively some PC drives have solder jumpers, default to DS1 but changeble to DS0.

thnks, the hd, is disabled.
and about the 10 and 12 and the b drive jumpering. i know.
but i will fix the drive as a.
but i think that will not solve the problem.
i assume that if you have an a and an b drive on it, the will be both 720 support. or is that different on a 8235.
but i will first change the drive to A. it was converted for a customer, but then did not went trough.
so i will fix this afcourse. so that if it doesnt work, will not be the problem.
All info is still welcome

on 8235 the side select is not connected for drive A ( pin 32 of drive )
you can connect the pin 32 of drive A to the pin 32 of external connector for drive B
