When Blue MSX tries to emulate a Turbo R on my pc, strange things happen. Nothing starts and sometimes the emulator just stops. What am I doing wrong. I tried 3 different versions of Blue MSX and all with the same result. All other configurations work without any problems.

tR emulation is broken on BlueMSX, use OpenMSX instead. If you switch to R800 ROM or Z80 ROM mode, then it works ok.

For some odd reason this does not cause problems on dvik's computer, so he can't trace the bug. I've tested BlueMSX now on 5 different computers and all of them have this same problem. IIRC BlueMSX 2.5 does not emulate DRAM mode at all, so some programs may work on that version a bit better.

I've tested with XP home and XP Pro. Fin & Eng.

The problem is, that part of the RAM appears to be ROM every now and then and debugger does not allow modifying RAM. (I think these are related) The RAM=ROM problem seems to appear in address space #8000-#BFFF randomly when DRAM mode is active.

Hmm... I was just wondering... All of the computers, that I've tried have been running on Intel CPU... a bit long shot, but maybe there is something

NYYRIKKI and yum, can you send me a disk image of something that crashes quick? Even if I can't reproduce the actual crash I can do some traces and see whats going on. But ideally I'd have something that crashes around the same location. If you have something that could help, I'd be happy to try to fix the crash.

I've now sent you disk image and screenshots... I really hope you could reproduce this problem...

[EDIT] Ah, I forgot to mention, I'm using BlueMSX 2.8 Built: 33603 but this same problem has been there since DRAM mode support was implemented... [/EDIT]

NYYRIKKI is right, turboR emulation it's not working correctly at the moment. I have been facing several issues trying to use it. I recommend you to switch to openMSX if you need accurate turboR emulation.
