Cool song, Bart! And incidentally the same as the one I did for the F-1 Spirit Remake (members.home.nl/jorrith/game_stock_v2b.ogg), which is a poor mix ;)
How about also making a soundset for the F-1 Spirit remake (braingames.getput.com/f1spirit/)?

Cool theme! That was stock car theme, right? I like F-1 Spirit music a lot. Do you have rally mode arranged version? :-)

Sure, Oscar. Check this: members.home.nl/jorrith/game_rally4.ogg :)
I did most F-1 Spirit songs already, just have to do 2 more (Ending and F3000), and properly mix the existing ones.

Really cool song!

Please make the other F1 Spirit songs. It will be great to have 2 sets in the remake: the Jorito's one and yours. :-)

At least I'm happy that my nittpicking is regarded as kinda positive. ^_^

(^_^( "or so you think.."
)o_O) "and what about our nittpicking eh?"

It's generally ok. But remember: In many cases, chorus is in fact kinda evil! I rarely use chorus, with which I don't mean that everything should sound like my stuff, but chorus is *really* evil_evil_evil. I'd say, if you want a sound to a bit richer then there are other ways of doing so. Even if no chorus is used, take care that you don't use a dual voice orso with one sound hard-left and another one hard-right. It kinda eats-up everything in your spectrum. (*referring to lead @ 0:11)

(^_^( "did you know that )o_O) ?"
)o_O) "yep yep yep"

(^_^( " ... really??"

)o_O) "yep, I knew he was gonna nittpick on *something*!"
(^_^( "..."

(nitpick) I agree with bifi, the intro sounds kinda empty (/nitpick)

Wolf, hehehe, it's nice to nittpick on something Smile

actually Wolf, i don't use chorus at all... that 'phat' lead you're reffering to is like that by preset... it's a so called 16th Saw-wave... and it just sounds that way Smile ... i only use delay these days... and a pinch of reverb maybe. (especially in Reason, cause the Reason standard effects suck kinda)
Anyway, in my opinion it sounded like the right instrument for the job... If I'd used a 'cleaner' less layered saw it would've sounded exactly like the original, which I don't want ^_^

About the intro, I guess I could add something there, but in the original it's also a bit 'empty' ... so I'm kinda in doubt about that.

indeed, let's not exagerate Smile

Anyway, LP: ever tried to make a fat lead without detuned layers (like that saw)? I strongly feel there are thousands of relevant sounds one can use for that role without having it sound like a chipsound. The way I hear it, that 16th saw eats-up the arrangement almost totally.

About the chorus: chorus or detuned sounds, is kinda the same ofcourse ^_^

Par Low_Profile

i dunno, I've tried other leads as well... even a less detuned sawlead, but I admit I actually like the rich 'bombastic' sound of a heavily detuned saw ^_^

Ofcourse the detune i used is comparable to chorus effects, but a real chorus also adds a flangy kind of sound which i usually dislike (depends on the feedback settings of the chorus effect ofcourse) ... that's why i usually stick to detuning the saw in the synth self to add that analogue synth feel.

It's where custom voices come in (in case you only browsed through presets) ..

Anyway, in terms of the soundspectrum I think that lead is too big/meaty compared to the arrangement.. but.. it's your party Smile
