We recently reported about Leonardo Padial's eMSX2++ project, a mini-ATX sized mainboard which is to be 100% MSX2+ compatible, adding several interesting extra's like a fast CPU, FLASH RAM, a bi-directional printer port and more. (In this newspost you can see all known preliminary specifications).

Today, Leonardo Padial revealed this interesting design, which shows his board will contain a Z80 and a Zilog eZ80 processor. It even has an optional Z380 socket. Furthermore, extra RAM and an LCD panel can be connected.

now got a PSG socket... that is good.....i got one PSG from an unused msx1, waiting for that....

I hope, than the switching of CPU will done in a standard and compatible with TURBOR way... So, all software will fit.....

also i are wondered why a z380? switching capability between 3 cpu?

if that is the thing, well this will be very useless (the z380).

pity that LP works alone, because is 10 times better to make parallel proccess as sub-systems, that can be very used, and fit exactly with the mnbios architecture.

Because is better to run 3 cpus, one primary and the rest as subsystems, than active only one at the same time.

Although you should change cpu like in turbo you doesn't have a r800 and doesn't have a S1990, so specific software of turbo-r never will can run in this kind of machine. LP wants to do a new MSX2+ with today hardware, not a turbo-r (r800 is very dificult of finding, almost imposible and S1990 is imposible at all).

maybe he can emulate the s1990, and if you run a ez80 at 32mhz, that is enought to emulate the R800.

that's a pity that nobody in europe and brazil has documentation about s1990 and only it's known function of 3 registers of all bank register of s1990. Emulate r800 is very simple with a ez80 because has trap for invalid opcpdes.

of course, GuyveR800, a gif is only graphic idea... No prototipe, nothing...
Hey, i could draw a better one (and i am not an artist). Do you like processors? i could paint many. Do you like buses, i could plot many. Do you like ram? (so on...)

well well well, when you develop some card, you need first do a graphic diagram to see. How you want to place the diferents thing on that card..... and starting from that, to draw the conections....

So, L.Padial only show the first step on his develop. Surelly he got all already thinked.
