Apparently it's Vampire Killer week in the media, because after the reviews on this great Konami classic on the Spanish blog El Pixeblog de Pedja and the comparison with the Famicom disk version on HonestGamers the Brazilian gaming portal Gaga Games have published this extensive review in Portuguese with nice screenshots from each level.

Being a bit biased as MSXer ofcourse, I still absolutely don't know why people think the NES version is so much better. Yes it's got scrolling, but apart from that I really didn't like that version... I like the MSX music just a bit more, the graphics look much better and 'creepier' to me, and besides all that the NES misses the level-keys and the merchants, which I think was a vital part of Vampire Killer opposed to CastleVania. Yes it's harder, but in my younger years I managed to finish it without GameMaster or anything at all (they could have enabled continues however...)

My vote is definitely for Vampire Killer Smile
