On December 26th we started a mega-poll on our website, in search of what our visitors thought of as the most important MSX news of 2003. After the nominations, and a pre-selection tournament in our forums the remaining 4 newsposts ended up in a frontpage poll, which started on January 16th. This poll has now come to an end.
After 148 votes, our visitors have decided that the most important MSX news of 2003 was the fact that MSX Celebrated its 20th anniversary. In this newspost we gave a lot of attention to this news, which was also celebrated by the 20th anniversary demo and the MSXDev'03 competition. We also feel that the 20th anniversary of MSX contributed to a wave of nostalgia which resulted in an increase of activity on our forums and, most importantly, of developers of MSX Software. Without a doubt 2003 has been the most active MSX year since years, as can be seen in our 2003 statistics. The full results of the poll are:
- 1. 20th anniversary of MSX (32.43%)
- 2. MRC Snowfall Challenge (24.32%)
- 3. Vscreen (Platform Game engine) (22.97%)
- 4. openMSX adding Moonsound support (20.27%)
Our next poll started as a forum thread about Nemesis 2 and Salamander. We would like to know which of the games in the Nemesis (Gradius) saga you like the most. Happy voting!
