MSXdev'09 - #3 Cow Abductors | MSX Resource Center

With a very small week to go, entries start creeping in now. Paxanga has come up with an unannounced entry: Cow Abductors. A modest game of 16KB that requires only 8KB RAM. Paxanga Soft is a veteran regarding game development, with games such as MSX Hot Numbers, Yupipati, Parachuteless Joe or the recent Cold Blood. This new game Cow Abductors follows the same fun/quality path. The main goal is to be the fastest alien in the universe by abducting the maximum number of cows. You can play versus the computer or against a friend using a nice and funny two-players mode! ROM label and a quality English manual are provided as well. Mooh!

There are hundreds of versions,. Even a 3D one, with almost same name, so i though "Damn!.. Now i'll have to change name to something like.. Cow Snatchers.. " but, nah.. to hell with everything, a game of cow abduction only can be named Cow Abductors in my geeky mind... Sorry.

never heard this tune before... I like the way it is used in in-game too, peaceful, softened sound.

I found it tricky to beam some cows, "crosshairs" seem just to slide 8pixels left or right from cow position and not stop to correct position, it is doable, but it is trickier than it should be. Besides that, nice little game for a while. Good colourful graphics! I like ingame tune better than title screen tune. (yes, I know it is the same tune

Yes ... One day, until now three games !!!
Maybe this year the MSXDev could be a easier contest ...

I am the only with a "MSX1+" game title !? If this is the case, I will earn $30.00!!!

Until now, the Best game is Cow Abductors for MSX1. The Paxanga Soft game is nice, even featuring some sound "sample".
