MSXdev'06 #18: RNFF

Few minutes before the MSXdev'06 contest deadline, the Dutch MSX group Infinite has submitted a platform game for MSX called RNFF - Running Naked in a Field of Flowers. The objective is to collect pills and/or mushrooms to advance through the game. You can find RNFF, that comes in a 32kB ROM file, on the MSXdev website.

We started wednesday-evening on this one, the only thing we inherited was the UU psg player and our gfx-system made for earlier (postponed games), for the rest: those few days was everything .. rush^2

Do notice that it's an MSX1/MSX2 hybrid, esp. the card in the demo has extra shades on MSX2, and the statusbar in the game has an extra brown, so for best colors: MSX2!
