Emulation - openMSX LaserDisc preview

If you visited the MSX fair in Nijmegen, last weekend, you may have seen LaserDisc support being demonstrated at the openMSX booth. Also, if you follow the dev-versions (developer versions between official releases) you may even have tried it yourself already. Vampier, from recent game video fame, has created a video in which he demonstrates this new feature. It gives you a good impression of things to come, most probably in openMSX 0.8.0. In addition, if you have plans to emigrate to the United States, then this video gives you an excellent insight in how a Dutch accent changes during seven years!

Wow ! Very impressive.
Never played LD games, but it seems with this technology Konami could create Policenauts on MSX !
If I understand correctly, emulator runs video player and MSX emulation at the same time ?

I hope my little Dingoo has enough processing power for all that.
It should be fantastic to play LD games on a pocketable console.

And when will we see the first "scene" LD game?

What are the controls in Badlands?

Just press space at the right moment?

There's already one, or at least something similar

I made "The Outbreak" (a zombie survival game, which used to be online) using EVAs and CD - the game style is *almost* the same: play video, make choice, play another video, etc. It just doesn't have any image overlay into it, and the video pauses so you can choose your path.... but still, same kind of gameplay
