Does anybody know if a saved data from Hydlide 3 msx1 would work for the msx2 version?
Yes,you can.A save data of Hydlide3 is common to MSX1 and MSX2.So you can use a MSX1 save data on MSX2 and vice-versa.
Tokihiro Naito, programmer of Hydlide series, said that the sturcutre of save data of Hydlide3 is the same among defferent platforms;MSX2,MSX1 and PC-88.He suggested that a MSX save data may work on PC-88 if you can load it on PC-88.
Great info; do you think that could be true too for the sega megadrive version "super hydlide"?
You are welcome!
Probably can not.Megadrive version is ported by another developer;not by T&E.So I think that there is no data compatibility between MSX and Megadrive.
Sorry! I overwrote my comment on your one by mistake!
I recovered your original comment as far as I can remember.
Thanks for the help; I'll go for an msx2 version now I know I can keep my old saves from msx1.
Cool to know that the save data is compatible. Do you happen to know what would happen if you were to use the pc-88 data on MSX, seeing there are some extra items in it the MSX versions don't have like Mysterious Coral and a Holy grail. Or are these items only in the pc-98 version?
Sorry to late reply.Maybe it may cause buggy behavior.PC-98 version is "Special Version" so there may be some difference between MSX save data and PC-98's one.
