3D Modelling on MSX

Slotman has found a japanese utility called Magical Producer IV that enables you to model 3D graphics on your MSX computer. To make it even more interesting, there also is a stripped BASIC 3D-modeller. Yes, you read it right the first time. A 3D-modeller programmed in BASIC. ON the site you will also find a game (SSW) that uses graphics created with Magical Producer IV.

aorante has released a ROM tool called 9918Veejing that allows you to create your own 8-bit flavored VeeJay sets on MSX. The tool shows a background layer with pseudo-random noise on which you can add a second layer with still graphics, scrolling text or even a simple animation.

WORP3, the developer of the MIDI-PAC, has released a tracker for MSX-MUSIC called Ace Sound Studio that he developed back in 1994. A specific characteristic of the utility is that it can import both Moonblaster (MBM) and Amiga MOD files.

Arturo Ragozini sent us an update of Apology MSX, a 6-channel PSG replayer. This new version includes an Excel sheet that can be used as a tracker.

It's been quite a while since we reported on the frequently updated Bargain compression suite for MSX. The toolkit celebrates its 20th anniversary this year and only a few days ago a new version was released. As usual, quite a bit of extra optimization and bugfixing was performed.

The Japanese SCREEN0-12 image compression suite Bargain has been updated once again. This time the machine code was optimized just a bit further, scraping off 4 bytes in size. An English user manual is now included as well.

The image compression toolkit BARGAIN received an other update, adding a cipher, progress bar and scraping no less than 60 bytes off the (de)compression routine. Also, an issue with switching disk drives was fixed.
