The website Passion MSX has published a large video of the Tilburg fair from 1995, made by Walter. It was the time when both the Dutch Tilburg and Zandvoort fairs were overwhelmingly huge compared to today's fairs, it was the time you usually couldn't have seen the whole fair in one day if you'd want to pay attention to all the booths, it was the time when the old scene legends made their products with the fair as deadline, MCCM was going strong, Sunrise was selling their fresh Graphics9000 and Moonsound hardware as well as the steady flow of games, music disks were highly popular, many local clubs were selling small productions, public-domain disks and small-scale Japanese import. It was the time of diskmagazines, home-made paper magazines, countless demodisks, international visitors, and long queues at the door to get in. How time flies..

The annual Dutch MSX Auction in Mariënberg, organised by MSX Vriendenclub Mariënberg, attracted many MSX collectors yesterday, temporary making Mariënberg the most crowded city in the Netherlands, by MSX population. With OeiOeiVogeltje as hammerman (secretly a comic book hero wearing an invisible mask, cape, and sporting a big H on his back), many goods were sold. This included MVM member hapzee's MSX collection, who, on a more serious note, unexpectedly passed away last year. Photos of this auction were uploaded to MSX Posse earlier today.

As was announced in the Nijmegen announcement, Walter from France would visit this MSX fair and make a video of the event. And so he did. After editing the whole lot, Passion MSX reports that the video is done and online. The fair itself was of course very successful, with foreign guests and more booths than before. We live in a time of affordable photo and video cameras and many people have one. Maybe more MSX fair videos are on their way to the internet? At least one other video is currently being worked on, but is far from finished. We'll keep you posted when it's out in the open!

Last weekend a large group of MSX fans, mainly from the Netherlands and Belgium, traveled to Nijmegen to visit the third annual MSX fair/user meeting in Nijmegen. Earlier today we already reported about these photo shoots, now we have put our selection of pictures taken during the fair (and the dinner afterwards) online as well in our ever growing photo shoots section. With contributions from Manuel Bilderbeek, OeiOeiVogeltje and Sander Zuidema almost 200 pictures give a nice impression of the day.

Last weekend the Nijmegen 2010 fair took place. This time it was an international event, with standholders from France and Finland. We reported on a photoshoot from this event earlier and now a selection of over 80 photos from Manuel Bilderbeek has been added to our photoshoots.

Last weekend, MSXRio'2009 took place in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. A video of this meeting has been uploaded to YouTube by SLotman. In this video we get to see several VSU demonstrations, such as a mod player, a multilayer platform game, BASIC programming with an animation in the background. The VSU is an upcoming project in development at the other side of the Atlantic and is made out of OPL4, V9958 (MSX2+) and V9990 (Graphics9000) chips. In addition, new projects by Icon Games are demonstrated.

Last weekend, the MSX Rio 2009 meeting took place in Brazil. A few days ago, we already reported about a photoshoot and now a small video about this meeting is available at YouTube. The video, though, is merely about the VSU, the under construction multimedia project containing an OPL4 and v9958 and v9990 chips.

MSX Posse has published a torrent file for the complete DVD with all of Kier Kracht's MSX fair footage. In September and October of 2007, 3 of such videos were published already: Zandvoort 1991, MSX Club Friesland Noord 1994 and Steenwijk 1994. Especially the old Zandvoort video brought back lots of fond memories of what used to be a great event, together with the famous MSX fair in Tilburg.
