This saturday, february the 9th, dutch MSX club MSX Vriendengroep Mariënberg will organize her annual MSX auction. With this auction, the club aims to prevent MSX software and hardware from ending up in the trash bin, and this event is thus the ideal place for collectors to hunt for MSX goodies. The meeting opens at 10:00. People who wish to sell their software and hardware using the auction can submit their goods at this moment, giving potential buyers the chance to inspect them until 12:00 when the auction starts. All the profits are for the seller. The address of the club: Buurthuis 'De Grendel' - W. Hentostraat 17 - Mariënberg (Netherlands), entrance is free!

Good news for the Brazilian MSX users: the meeting MSXRio 2008 has just been announced! This meeting will be held from May the 1st to May the 3rd (Thursday to Friday, three days!) in the SESC Engenho de Dentro, which is the same place as the previous meeting: Avenida Amaro Cavalcanti, 1661, Engenho de Dentro, Brazil. If you live nearby, be sure not to miss this event!

This weekend, on Saturday the 19th, the third installment of the annual MSX-fair in Nijmegen will be held. The list of participants and their activities is now complete:

• openMSX Team - Demonstration of openMSX 0.6.3., the new Catapult and the debugger GUI. And as a bonus: the prototype of the port of openMSX for the GP2X handheld.
  
• Bitwise - Promotion and sale of MSX games by Kralizec, Matra, Karoshi, Icon Games and more.
  
• Delta Soft - Demonstration and sale of home made software. Probably their newest game Lucky Darts will be released.
  
• Stichting Sunrise - Sale of brand new MP3 player cartridges, pick up manuals of Manbow 2 and maybe more...
  
• MSX Resource Center - Sale of MSX T-Shirts, demonstration of Infinite's brand new Megachallenge entry.
  
• MSX Club West-Friesland - Promotion and sale of MSX equipment.
  
• MSX Vriendenclub Mariënberg - Promotion of MSX Vriendenclub Mariënberg.
  
• Prodatron - Demonstrating SymbOS Z80 multitasking operating system on the One-Chip-MSX (with a hopefully working SD/MMC driver then) plus GFX9000 and MP3 cards.
  
• Bas Kornalijnslijper - Repairs, expansions, cables, buy and sale of second hand MSX hardware.
  
• Totally Chaos Team - Promotion of MSX World Wide Magazine, sale of old MSX-Info Blad magazines, second hand hardware, cables.

You can however still sign-up for a booth, make haste though. The collective dinner in the Chinese restaurant is very crowded already, but a few more people would still be welcome. Celebrating the upcoming 25th anniversary of our 8-bitter, French MSX website MSX Café has announced the third installment of the MSX Convention meeting. Yesterday, MSX Vriendengroep Mariënberg held her last meeting of 2007. MVM has written a (Dutch) report of this event which can be read on their website. In addition, the high-scores of the game competiton which was being held on that day, have been added to Ai No Yabou.

The stage can be used for special events. This year at least the classical Triplex setup will be available again, for your pleasure. If you have more ideas, please inform the organization.

As always, there's the possibility to join a dinner in a Chinese restaurant, right after the fair (on a 5 to 10 minute walking distance). Let the organization know if you want to participate so that the restaurant can be informed in time. Currently about 18 participants have confirmed their presence.

More than enough reasons so far for you to come to the first of the two annual Dutch Fairs. Call your old MSX friends you haven't spoken to since 1997 or so, and invite them to come! Bring your family, and finally demonstrate them what you are toying with in the attic when they're out to visit your mother-in-law! Bring some hardware, software or magazines you found in boxes which you want to sell. Perhaps others are doing so, and you still miss issue 69 of your favorite MSX magazine, here's a chance to get it! In short: mark this date into your agenda!

On December 8, 2007, the Asociación de Amigos del MSX will host the 32nd installment of the Reunión de Usarios de MSX de Barcelona, RU for short. On Saturday, November 17, the Dutch PC & MSX Gebruikersgroep Nijmegen will hold its monthly club meeting. Although this club is nowadays largely focused on PC's, it roots firmly on MSX ground. This meeting will focus on those roots and visitors are explicitly invited to bring their MSX (or even their MSX emulator).

The meeting is held in Wijkcentrum Villa Nova, 3e van Hezewijkstraat 2, Nijmegen (NL). Entrance fee is €1.60, children get a 50% discount.

Yesterday, on December 8, 2007, the Asociación de Amigos del MSX the 32nd installment of the Reunión de Usarios de MSX de Barcelona, took place. Pictures of RU Barcelona are to be expected shortly, but for the moment here's an overview of the news of this event:

• There was a presentation of the game Manbow 2
  
• Padial and Ramones presented the latest version of the new hardware they're working on. With this, people will be able to read SD-cards, emulate DSK images, and boot a DOS2 version with the FAT16 driver included (booting from a FAT16 partition!)
  
• There was a work-in-progress presentation of a prototype of a new PS-2 PC mouse converter for MSX, by La Sekta Group.
  
• Matra has released Malaika and Jungle Hunt cartridges (Jungle Hunt was released by Bitwise on the MSX Fair in Bussum, 2 months ago). Also on sale were games from previous years, such as Beepertron, Ink and others.
  
• Mohai tech has sold brand new handmade MSX merchandise like stickers etc.
  
• Imanok showed a beta version from his last game: Txupinazo, a San Fermines Simulator.
  
• One beer MSX stand, offering free beers for players who wanted to play any game on their computers.
