I guess the guy who did the modification already mailed you his findings. If not, I'll urge him to do so. He said it's like € 0,50 and half an hour of time. You won't believe your ears once it has been done 
Could you post the finding here so the people who already have there's. Can implement the chance? Maybe a picture of the board.
And as of the audio levels, the are personal but I would like to hear the difference.

here is modified schematic :
he add a 1K resistor and a 3.3K resistor on both channels on the IC8 chip (LF347)
Here a picture of the modification (Need to cut 2 tracks, so if you want to do it, you will have to be very careful !)
You have to know this modification also add some noises in the Amplification.
So, for myself, I prefer, a lower output wolume without noises !
In fact, I don't understand in what it is a problem if the output level is lower than other Moonblaster clones...
Just turn up a little more your external audio Amp, and that 's all ... :-?
