When openMSX emulates any MSX2 machine you cannot see when you turn the width to 80 columns in BASIC!
Can't openMSX developers solve this problem in the next update?! I think it has something to do with video rendering and scaling on Android. I don't think it would be a hard mission for them?! The same blurry problem is there for some screen modes.
I have KEGS which is an Apple II emulator for Android and it displays 80 columns very clear. So what is the problem with openMSX scaling and video rendering?!
I used to enjoy my MSX1,2 using version 0.12.0 but yesterday I found the new version and I was hoping that the new version have fixed the blurry problem 'cos lots of programs are in 80 columns screen 0 mode and they look a lot more professional in it like CP/M, MSXDOS, some well known programs such as spreadsheets and word processors. Unfortunately, the same problem is still there in the new version.
Yeah, currently the Android port only supports scale_factor 1, so 320x240 pixels. See https://github.com/openMSX/openMSX/issues/1032
It's not that easily fixed. You can't assume everyone has a screen that fits 640x480. And the SDL port on which openMSX relies doesn't support switching resolutions while the app is running.
I'll ask the Android porter (Alex) if he can take a look at what options we have.
