Found some MSX (2?) related stuff on the attic..

He people,

first off i would like to say im not very familiar to MSX related items, i have been researching for the last couple of weeks to see if this had any worth. but since ive been reading posts on this forum for a while i thought i would ask you all if you could help me figure out if any of this stuff is wanted gear.

Since im not an MSX enthousiast myself so i would like to sell all of this stuff because its just collecting dust right now and having checked the state of the equipment it looks like most of it is still in perfect condition. I will add a list with the items currently in my possession together with some photographs.

if you would like to help me out finding the right prices for these items and people or places to sell them where people appreciate these i would be very grateful!

Sony HB-201p

Black version which is inside its own box (including styrofoam and wrapped in plastic protector) has dutch programming manuals together with its original manuals. even found the receipt from when and where it was bought.

DataRecorder General Electric 3-5156
Could not find an official information link to this product but looking inside the box and online it seems to be complete.

Andorogynus Large case with booklet and cartridge

i think this is the european release since the product code is exk-116 instead of uxk-116.

its the cassette in the middle of the photo, not sure if this is an official release.

There are some other accessoires like a joystick but im not sure where to find any information on this.

That's a very nice collection you have. As far as prices and such I'm not the one to ask, but there are alot of very good people on this board that I'm sure will help your out.

All I can suggest is to go on ebay and see what the items have been selling for. NOT the listing prices.

Oh! thats definitely a good idea, normally i try to stay away from ebay because of the inflated prices people put on their products so i didn't know i could look up what items have been selling for.

Strange, Andorogynus is an MSX2 game, it doesn't even run on that Sony HB-201P! Any idea hwo you got that??

To be honest i have no idea how i got any of this. i only remember using it when i was around 5 years old. but i do remember playing andorogynus which had a weird story cutscene with a half naked woman? im not sure haha..
im sure we did not own an msx2, so im not sure how i got to play it if it should not be able to run.

all these items were bought around '85/'86 from the from looking at the receipt, and i think andorogynus was imported to the UK or USA before being sold here (the Netherlands) since it has an english booklet inside the case along with the japanese manual.

That manual was typically added by the importer Homesoft in the Netherlands. Andorogynus is from 1988, so it was defnitely bought later. You played it, so you must have had an MSX2 to do that

By the way, the joystick seems to be a Philips NMS 1112.

Also the Sony HB-201P does not have a disk-drive, and you have the disk version of the Protector.

So either there must have been an external disk drive unit, or perhaps an MSX2 with internal drive.

Hi Benn_R. Your Sony HB-201P looks very nice. I had one when I was young and think it’s still one of the best looking MSXs ever. I’m interested in the HB-201P, but not so much the rest off the stuff. Do you have a price in mind yet? If it’s still in good conditions (no scratches - it look good on the photos) I’m thinking of 50 euro. If you live close to Arnhem, I can pick it up.
