So I can save game OK, but after this, when I play again ,the game stops after the initial main screen.
I have no problems with IANNA, or MGear.
It's an english version.
You're not supposed to save on the game disk. Doing that corrupts the game disk. The game disk should be kept copy-protected.
There's this thing called 'user disk' that a lot of old Japanese computer games uses. To make a user disk for a game, you just save to a blank, formatted disk and there you go. Shortly put: You need a blank, formatted disk and you save your Ys I progress to that. That way you will have your very own Ys 1 user disk.
I cannot change the disk while playing.
With golvellius I press f7+space+ 0/1 (selecting the savedisk), but with YS, It doesnt show any menu selection disk.Just the saving menu.
I load the game using :
EP ys.dsk /b
EP userdisk /r
I use this way in golvellius2 and works
PD:Im not using real disk
I know the DOS version maybe is better, but I would like to play with MSX for nostalgia and because is the orignial.
You use EP? Are you playing on OCM or emulator? If you use EP you can switch disk images by holding the kana key (graph key?) when switching disks. The light starts blinking and you can change disks.
But on an actual emulator you don't need to use EP and can just start with the gamedisk. When you are asked for the other disk, you just select that disk image...
