the value of a tower is basically the sell cost.
You can click on one of your towers to see the sell cost.
It's basically 80% of the money you invested into it. (purchase and upgrades).

So a tower that costs $100, will have a value (sell cost) of $80.
At the end of the world this tower will give $10 to bring to next world.

Hahahahahahahahaha! Well, the Vectroids main tune is only used in the sound config screen of Deva so you won't hear it in the game itself. At least not in this exact form. But very glad you like the game (and the music).

The news post talks about a 'port', of which game exactly?

the original is called vector tower defense or vector TDX and is hosted on a few sites, you can google for it.
Yeah world 4 is where it gets tough. There are 10 worlds in total ! Good luck

Very nice! And interesting small technical details, such as the variable-width font used in some parts of the game!

I think I'm a bit rusty in my tower defense skills, died in the 3rd level. Will play again tonight now that I started getting a hold of it

Indeed, my overall impression is WOW! Graphics work very nicely, music is good and movement is fluent. Moving the cursor takes a bit getting used to, but in a moment it feels ok. Very polished and nice...

How ever I must say that the brick wall hits you to the face a bit too soon... I would like to play & get touch of this kind of game for 10 levels or more before it gets this rough... I don't mind if the same levels comes with different colors and more tough in a moment, but now already at 3rd level I feel I'm totally stuck and there must be just one strategy (or so) to make it work...

And one more rant... Why there is no continue option??? It feels pretty stupid to write the password every few minutes...

Now, I think I'll try few more times.

3th level, you mean 3th World I think?
I played it on emulator, that does makes your life easier (not cheating, but restarting a level, fast-forward, a sneak-peak of what a level 3 tower offers etc )

World 3 shouldn't be too hard, probably you do need some kind of strategy indeed. World 4 I think really demands a certain strategy (was stuck on that one for a while )

I can give some (playing) tips, but probably it's more nice to figure things out on your own

I finished the game, and ran into a few bugs (latest openMSX dev build, boosted MSX2 EN config):

World 7 or so (can look it up), I had a level 2 red at a certain spot that had a 25% boost without having any Power towers;
when the big hp numbers start to appear, glitching will happen with the 'dmg' text, where a green 1 would remain under or over the g of dmg, and at a later point a 1+2 with the g all on top of each other (I suppose that's a known bug )
in openMSX w/ the 'boosted Turbo R' config the title screen PSG tune isn't playing correctly.

Cheers! Are the FS images in the game original? Quite like it/them

Next challenge is going through it all in one go

Nice tower defense game! :-D

BTW... did anyone expecience problems with FM initialisation in real MSX machines? When I try it in my Turbo R, the title music doesn't sound properly the first time. The game itself seems to sound ok and when you go back to title, music sounds ok too.

In a F1XDmk2 and in a F1XV the sound did not work. It seems that only the drums from PSG is enabled.
