Want to buy an external memory mapper for nms 8280 (not megaram cartridge)

One question is there a program to load roms and locate the external memory mapper?I know execrom does not work unless you have megaram ?Do you know if loadrom works?

As I'm a bit lazy, I haven't tested other loaders. Usually I switch to a machine with more internal RAM and forget about the external mapper; but I think that it must exists at least one with such feature...

Isn't there a basic loader that tests for such external mappers?I remember metal gear 1 the disk version for 256 kbytes memory mapper (the one that doesn't crash in the elevators but works ok),when it starts it does a check and says or not wether you have a memory mapper.Also the disk version of metal gear 2 the translated has one test i think in the start.Would not it be possible a program to be written that would take advantage of them?Should we contact the authors of these utilities and maybe request something?

Hello everyone, I bought an MSX MEGA-MAPPER 4MBytee from 8bits4ever, in my NMS8280 it doesn't work in both cartridge slots !? In ignition it continues to indicate 128 + 128 of ram and Vram, the inserted cartridge does not change the amount of Ram. The previous owner used it on a NMS8235 and NMS8245, so the same type of msx machines! Various cartridge games work fine in my nms8280 in both cartridge slots. You can help me? thank you

The RAM amount shown on the boot screen of MSX2 computers is hardcoded. Therefore, that it does not update does not mean the memory mapper does not work.

Check the amount of memory in MSX-DOS2 using a utility like MEM.COM, MAPINFO.COM or MAPMAP.COM. Or use the MEMORY command that’s available in COMMAND2.COM 2.44 afaik. Or a RAM tester like TestRAM, MemTest, etc. There are many options, and those will show the actual amount.

Or use software that can use the extra memory, like VGMPlay, if it doesn’t run out of memory when playing large VGM files that means it works .

Good morning, after several attempts, I was able to load the software needed to run the RAMTEST program in my MSX. After the test the Memory Mapper results 4096kb, therefore working. I can't post the photos in this forum, otherwise I would have shown you the video images! Are there any covers for msx cartridge cards? thank you
