Right now, I'm at World 4. How do I defeat the clouds so you can get the tip on finding the Holy Water?

Yes, I actually got this far. I'm enjoying it more than I thought I would. Now, I'm working on World 5.

I've run into a roadblock. How do I make the stones appear in World 5 so I can cross the water?

I did it! I finished Maze of Galious! No joke!

What an awesome game this was. Now I see why MSX fans love this game so much.

ren, I decided to stick with my strategy of getting all the possible items until setting foot inside the first dungeon. Five items can only be obtained after that time.

The atmosphere in this game is also amazing, too. I felt it was a nice little touch to have the music go faster and faster the more you attack a boss. Creepy and effective.

I also like that you control two players at your own choice, and you level up one of them. Both of my players got equal treatment in my playthrough.

My only gripe is that I don't like that you have to buy the shields in order of power, and that you can't just skip to the Golden one.

But other than that, I had so much fun with this game. I eventually got an understanding of what to do as my playthrough progressed further on.

I would also like to try the Famicom version, as well. Some people say it's better than this version. Is it?

People who say the Famicom version is better probably mostly say it for the most part for 3 reasons: scrolling, more colorful graphics and nostalgia. I like that hades has a picture but why does it have to be a skeleton...

MSX people will say it for the same nostalgia reasons, but aside from that for these reasons:
- items are shown as mostly a text list of items not the illustrated ones which gives you the feeling of having a nice hoard
- no tombstones or spells to activate bosses. Because of that the reason for there being a spell diagram in boss levels is almost superfluous (although still nice looking) even though most players don't know it is based of a real spell diagram. You need to do a special move there.
- no or far less special triggers for events that allow you to go on. It's more straight forward
- more stuff straight out of a shop; which to me is less gratifying
- less worlds: only 5 or 6 as opposed to the 10 on MSX

So what about the clouds in World 4? How do I defeat them?

Also, a question about the inventory screen: Which one is the Helmet and Helm, and which one is the Armor and Robe? Funny how some item pictures were recycled from Penguin Adventure.

Apparently, you can get the Saber before World 7, but not sure exactly when. I'll look into it the next time I get around to playing this again.

I also forgot to mention how awesome the UMBRELLA password is for killing all Bats on screen. The equivalent to Zelda's microphone controller on Pols Voices.

Congrats!!! That was fast!!! I am eager for the new MoG games that are coming up soon to replay this!!

As for the clouds I don't remember exactly now, but if my memory doesn't fail, they cannot be defeated, so, you just dodge them.

Clouds can't be defeated as Santiontanon says.

The Priest robe is the one that looks like Galious' clothes. The armor is the green one that looks like an armor. The helm is the one that looks more like a skull cap. The saber can be gotten after world 6.

And yeah the umbrella thing is awesome. Perhaps they should make it activate on microfone in the new MoG games like in zelda on Famicom!

Wow, that's insanely fast (you were on a mission? ) So I guess you did use a guide, and looked stuff up? (For the Vase, Dagger & Cross there is no other option I guess )

I like the shield upgrade path. (Perhaps you would have appreciated it if you would have taken more time to play through the game? )

Do you get some hint in-game it's hidden in the castle somewhere? Yeah, then it's a matter of checking walls I guess (and the platforms / somewhat peculiar room give some hint I suppose )
