Technically, you can connect both adapters together, but it's unlikely that there is enough space to put them there. At least, I never tried to fit both of them or a "sandwich" inside A1F.
Got the factory-made boards with correct connectors location and successfully tested them. If someone needs those boards or kits, please contact me.
I have followed all the steps and it works correctly even the screen. Unfortunately it doesn't work on my FS-A1F since I can't get both units to work at the same time, I think there is a guide to do it with a switch. In case someone is interested in putting a screen, I leave an image with the connections:
Have you set drive select jumpers correctly? I don’t see why it would not work on FS-A1F. Or is it missing some of the drive select signals on the cable/connector?
I think the signal is missing as you comment, this would be the scheme according to flashjacks:
Okay, you should be able to get DS1 from the FDD controller and lead it to your B: drive in a separate wire to the DualSlim board.
Here is the datasheet of TC8566AF (not entirely same suffix, FS-A1F has TC8566F). DS0 is on pin 69 and DS1 on 68. You can verify continuity between pin 69 on the chip and pin 6 on the FDD connector to confirm, then take pin 68 to the DualSlim board input pin 12 (Please verify if I did not make any mistake;))
I think I know the answer and you won't like it. If I remember correctly, the floppy cable of A1F doesn't have the DS1 signal at all. I found it out when making an adapter, but completely forgot about it.
Well, connecting a cable from pin 68 to pin 12 of the adapter I have according to megareport:
2 logic drives
2 hardware drivers.
If I disconnect the cable from pin 12 it gives me 2 logical drivers and 1 hardware drivers.
so far it seems correct, but I do not have access to drive B (usb). I don't know if it will be some configuration or jumpers
If I disconnect the jumper s1 from the gotek I also get 1 hardware drivers
Well we’re on the right path. What does your Gotek do if it’s configured as drive 0 and only one connected on the bus? Does it work and can you boot a game from disk image?
What drive number is the floppy drive configured as? Personally I would prefer Gotek to be A: and FDD to be B:.
