- VRAM size (I guses 128kB)
Yes, VRAM size is standard, 128KB
- is shift-graph-control keyboard ghosting protected (check what SHIFT-GRAPH-0 gives)
Weird!, what's that?, some kind of matrix error?. Well, that's what appears when pressing SHIFT+GRAPH+0:
- does the kana/code key lock? (like CAPS)
Yes, check at the (bad) photo below. The left lit led is Kana, right is caps.
- does the GRPH key lock? (like CAPS)
No
Does it have the usual other ports, like a printer port, cassette port?
More or less usual ports: Keyboard, RGB 21-pin, Centronics, A/V, 2xjoystick ports, tape and RF. It also has an extra power plug; but I guess that it has nothing to do about emulation :P
Thanks! The ghosting is a limitation of the keyboard hardware. Some keyboards have diodes to protect some keys from this effect. Apparently this keyboard doesn't
Checking in first version of this machine config.
jltursan, for completeness sake, you could try to run this program and tell us the output: http://samor.nl/hap/crap/ident_test.zip (run ident.bas and do what it says to get proper output).
Thanks a lot, jltursan!
Glad to help!
The keyboard is a JIS one, there's a picture of it in the first message. Anyway I'll take a more detailed photo to show how the keys are arranged.
Can you please do that still or again? The picture on the MRC Wiki suggests it's a JP_50on keyboard and not JIS.
Shouldn’t this be easy to determine given the ROMs are dumped? If you emulate a machine with JP50on whose ROMs expect a JIS keyboard you get an incorrect output, or do I miss something?
Not really. With the current ROM if I put it on jp_jis and the PSG keyboard layout bit on JIS and the mapping mode to POSITIONAL, I get JIS behaviour ("no" under K key) and if I change it to jp_ansi and 50on respectively, I get ANSI behaviour ("no" under the 0 key).

Hi, I still own the machine , pretty amazing to see prices of the junk items back then...
What do you need, detailed pics of the keyboard?
