ASCII's released a promo-version of MSXPLAYer on one of their weekly magazines. The CD-ROM that comes with the magazine contains time-limited versions of Castle and Bokosuka Wars. Head to RetroPC to check a screenshot of MSXPLAYer running Castle.

MSX.ORG asp script bug exploited

Some of our visitors might have seen a very strange news posting on our website today. Thanks to a `hacking` group called affix, our website has been `defaced` for a small amount of time. They exploited a security bug in our ASP scripts and altered the contents of Bart's news post on the new Konami games. They appear to do the same trick on several websites.

Konami just released a package of 5 retro-games for PC. It contains Castlevania (similar to Vampire Killer on MSX), Castlevania 2, Castlevania 3, Super C and Contra (also known as Gryzor). As reported earlier, the International MSX 2003 fair will be held at January 25th of 2003, in 't Oude Theater, Bram v.d. Berghstraat, Oss, The Netherlands. MSX-NBNO has added a special offer on their website. When you reserve a booth on their website before December 15th, you will get one table for free (minimum number of tables is 3 for this special offer).

After a long period of silence, TNI celebrates its 10th anniversary with a completely restyled website. On the website you can find GEM, the Gameboy Emulator for MSX and tniASM, a cross-assembler for Z80, R800 and GBZ80. One of the popular TNI websites, MSX Banzai! celebrates as well.

Hans Oranje expanded his designs of msx mappers.A 4MB mapper build with one pc 4MB simm for the 8250/55/80 is now online.He also made a version switchable between 2MB and 4MB.

WAVeR 2.00

WAVeR v.2.00 has been released. It is a PC program that converts MSX ROMs to audio files (WAV format). So you can load them in your MSX using the cassette input and BLOAD"CAS:",R.It supports non-standard speeds, from 1200 to 4800 bauds. 3200 bauds seems to work fine in all computers.
