Gigamix online have added two screenshots of MSXPLAYer for Kyocera PocketCosmo to their website.

J-War brings the MSX Community another re-arrangement of a well known MSX game song. This time he made a super-arrangement of the ending theme of SD-Snatcher. The song is more than 5 minutes long and well worth listening to.

This year the Brazilian MSX Jaú event will be held on the 21st, 22nd and 23rd of November. Although the contents are still about MSX Jaú 2002, the website about this fair can be found here. Last year MSX Jaú was a real success, more information can be found in this report

Artwork Contest Update

A little update on the 2nd Artwork contest that is closing in 3 weeks. So far 7 submissions received from Spain, Belgium, the USA and Egypt that can be seen on the newly improved contest homepage, in the 'Galerie' section. The contest closes on 31 October and is essentially focused (but not restricted) on making wallpapers on the theme '20 years of MSX gaming'.

MSX Magazine 2 has reached the 6th place in the Amazon Japan top 100 best-selling items today! This position is entirely based on pre-order sales figures, so who knows what will happen after december 1st when it will be officially released in Japan.

We received one final request from the editors of MSX Magazine 2. They are looking for a scan of the cover of the game 'Eric and the Floaters'. If you have a good scan please send it to [email protected].

SLotman has posted 49 pictures of the MSXRio event, which took place on the 27th and 28th of September, on his website. He also links to MSXsite, where another photo report of this Brazil MSX Meeting can be found.

Due to the huge success of MSX Magazine 1 (which was temporarily sold even more than the latest Harry Potter book in Japan, and also got more attention than the Pentium 4 and GeForce 5 (GeForce FX) a year ago, Amazon decided to start allowing people to pre-order the upcoming MSX Magazine very soon this time.

Maggoo released a new version of the universal platform game engine called Vscreen. This engine is very good education for ASM coders (as the sources are included), but its main goal is to allow people with limited development skills to create their own platform games. A demo game is included.

Both ROM renamers GoodMSX1 and GoodMSX2 have been updated. The MSX1 version now recognizes and correctly (re)names 589 MSX1 ROM games, while the MSX2 version does the same for 166 MSX2 ROM games.
