It goes without saying that 2003 was a good year for the MSX Community. It has been a long time since we had so many new hardware and software products in one year. And then there were the revival-activities in Japan and the many activities of (ex) MSX users on the internet.

A new version of the platform game engine VScreen was released. This engine, that comes with two exciting demo levels, makes it possible for beginning developers to create their own high-quality platform game. Sources are included, so it is a must-have for every MSX user (from newbie to advanced developer).

Generation MSX adds magazine covers

Generation-MSX added scans of the covers of six dutch and five italian MSX magazines to the website today. Amongst the magazines are MSX Club Magazine, MSX Computer magazine, MSX Gids and many more. Also some flyers and advertisments from Sunrise and from the United Kingdom were added.

Today, MSX Resource Center proudly welcomed the 1,000,000th visitor since August 6th, 1996. Yes, you have read it right: Only six months after we reached 500,000 visitors our Nedstat Counter registered the millionth visit to our website.

MNBIOS - A new BIOS for MSX2.

From 1996 to 2003 flyguille developed and tested a new BIOS for his MSX2, called MNBIOS (MSX Non BASIC Input Output System). The purpose of this project is creating a new BIOS that increases the capabilities of the MSX2 hardware, without the need of directly addressing the hardware.

KdL of GnO~GnI has released a new version of LogiBoot, the Boot Sector editor for MSX. New in this version:

  • Auto-selection of MSX2 and MSXtR machines
  • CPU MODE for MSXtR (v2.2 only)
  • Speed Drive does not work on MSXtR!! (hidden in version 2.2)

As you know, many demos and diskmagazines are downloadable on MRC. If you hesitate to make your choice, MSX Valley, a French site can help you. After the presentation of the three Flying Bytes demos and the Pulsar demo of Syntax Error, the webmaster has developed an extended section "FAC/FCS".
